today

Today I got locked inside an access computer lab. I pushed down on the door handle and it wouldn't budge, but I wouldn't believe it couldn't open, coz who can't open a door?, so I kept trying. Finally I gave up and asked the nearest person at a computer, and here on followed some of the most pointless conversations of my existence.
Me: Excuse me, do you know how to open the door?
Her: You need a card.
Me: Really?
Her: Yeah.
Me: So how do I get the card?
Her: You have to get your access card encoded.
Me: ...
Her: You have to go the security center. (which is in another building)
Me: Ok...
I approach the nearest person from there.
Me: Excuse me, do you have a card that can open the door?
Her: Card? (can't speak English)
Next person.
Me: Excuse me, do you have a card that can open the door?
Her: Sorry, I don't. (doesn't seem to care that she can't get out)
Me: Is there another exit?
Her: No, I don't think so.
Me: How are you getting out of this room?
Her: Umm, I'm not sure, I've never stayed here this late before.
Me: How can I get out of this room?? (kinda talking to myself, kinda getting panicky)
Her: I guess you'll have to find someone who has a card to open the door for you. I saw a big bikie guy with a helmet who had one.
I walk around the lab but I can't find him, although I find a big black helmet on a desk.
Next few people don't know what I'm talking about (how are they going to get out?! wth?!), then that last girl I talked with finishes up and starts following me around, looking kinda panicky.
FINALLY, a guy with bloodshot eyes says "Yep", grabs his wallet, and leads me to the door. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Don't you hate those weird new things in uni you only learn about when you, for example, get locked inside an access computer lab?

Apart from that, I'm getting better at uni. I take less time to get ready in the mornings, I somehow manage to catch my bus that's never ever ever on time, and it's been aaages since I've had to flip open my uni mini map. : D

To end with...a preview of my next post:
